Jeff Bannow - Photography Blog

Just a quick note - 2 of my works from the Emmet county series have been accepted into the 11th Annual Livonia Exhibition of Fine Arts.  The show runs from September 2nd to the 29th.

Also, I will be at the People’s Art Festival at the Russell Industrial Complex on September 15th in the Click Collective booth.  We will be there selling prints and having a good time if any of you want to stop by.  And of course there will be hundreds of other artists, plus food and music.

I have finished scanning and uploading all of my assignments from my studio class this semester.  You can find them in the gallery under class assignments.

I was just informed that 2 new pieces have been accepted into the Fill the Frame exhibition at the Lawrence St. Gallery in Ferndale.  The show will be up from 7/2 to 7/25.

It was a real blast.  We made some new friends and took lots of pictures.  Learned a lot too, with various photographers sharing their work, showing off their gear, giving lectures, demonstrations, etc.  I put up a few shots from the trip in my Work in Progress folder.  There are also a few in the Group Shoots folder.

I’m really looking forward to next year’s event!

I’ve added some pictures from my last show, as well as photos of my panoramics.  You can find the panos in the Ruins of Detroit section.

I also put up a group shot from my last outing to the book depository.

Just a reminder, my 3 four foot wide panoramics are up right now through the 15th at O.C.C.  It is nice to see them hanging on the wall for once.  I should have photos of the exhibit up soon.

I have (finally!) updated the site with the cyanotypes from last semester’s Advanced Color class.

My photo group the Click Collective has a show coming up at the Nancy Fox Gallery in Novi.  It runs all of May & June, but the official opening is Wed. the 7th from 6pm-8pm.  The subject is health and wellness, with each photographer showing their own take on it.

There will be a silent auction for one of my pieces as well - it was picked as one of 3 best of show.  Refreshments and such will be served as well (including donuts!)  Hope to see you there.

My work has been accepted to the Exposures: Photography ‘08 exhibit at the Lawrence St. Gallery on Woodward in Ferndale.  The show opens today and runs through the 25th.
